Java Djembe
Java Djembe is a high energy drum and dance troupe that performs traditional West African rhythms. Liz, founder and artistic director of the group, always strives to respecfully educate and bring awareness to the African culture through drum and dance while inspiring and creating a fun atmosphere for the ensembles' appreciative audiences.

Since 2000, Java Djembe has delighted audiences with their infectious grooves, exhilarating dances and powerful performances laced with historical and culture awareness surrounding West African rhythms. Java Djembe and Liz's new show "DURGA" (Drums Unite Race & Gender Alike), have reached thousands in the Reno/Carson/Truckee/Tahoe area. Liz has been grant funded by Tahoe Arts Project, Nevada Arts Council, Lake Tahoe Educational Foundation and El Dorado Community Foundation.
